Introduction Cross-cultural comparison of medical setting around the world led to the formulation of general models of the relationships between the various medical traditions within single settings. The study of human confrontation with disease and illness, and of the adaptive arrangements made by human groups for dealing with ever-present danger has come to be a special branch of anthropology called medical anthropology. It is one of the youngest and most dynamic of the various branches of anthropology. It concerns with a wide variety of health related issues, including the etiology of the disease, the preventive measures that humans as members of socio-cultural systems have constructed or devised to prevent the onset of the diseases,
